Guests will sample Wayne County’s finest burgers.

Independent restaurants are invited at no charge to feature “slider or miniature versions” of your best burgers from 12:30-3:30 p.m. in booths set up outdoors under the state-of-the-art pavilion on CCHO’s beautiful, rural campus.  We expect 300 guests for this ticketed event ($20 adults; $7 under age 14), who will receive coupons for two burgers of their choice.  Guests will participate in the “People’s Choice Award,” casting votes for their favorite burgers in this friendly competition.  We will provide other picnic favorites (beans, salads, ice cream, soda, etc.).

There is no charge for restaurants to participate, but space is limited.

CCHO will cover the costs for temporary permits for your restaurant to participate.  Electricity and signage will be provided for your restaurant’s 8-foot covered booth space.  You will need to supply your food product (meat, buns, condiments), appliances to safely prepare and serve product (grill, Sternos, tongs, pans, etc.), and staff to serve your product.  CCHO will furnish paper goods, discard of refuse, and provide guidelines on how to set up a safe serving station.  A maximum of 10-12 spaces for restaurants is available; please confirm your space soon!

Sunday, June 23 is on the first weekend of Summer!

The weather will be warm and cozy, and area families will be eager to enjoy the outdoors on the first weekend of Summer.  There are no other major events happening on June 23 in Wayne County.  We have a robust publicity plan, which includes soliciting our own donor base of 5,000+ individuals, businesses, organizations and churches, media contacts, paid advertising, social media, and signage/flyers at participating restaurants.

Music, Children’s Activities, Open House and Giveaways.

This family-oriented community event runs from 12:30-4:00 p.m. and will include a live Rock and Roll Oldies band, Children’s Activities (face painting, skills games, bounce house, etc.), Open House (guests can tour the CCHO campus, including our Poplar Ridge Stables), and Valuable Giveaways (gift cards from participating restaurants and other fun items) throughout the afternoon.  A local media celebrity (to be determined) will emcee the event.

Will you join us for this very special and cool charity event?
