2025 Heart for the Home Benefit & Auction

Writer: CCHOCCHO

Our 2025 Heart for the Home Benefit & Auction was a record-breaking success raising over $40,000! Over 270 people attended in support of Christian Children’s Home of Ohio and its family of ministries on Saturday, March 22 at Greystone Event Center in Wooster, OH.

The evening featured an auction with nearly 100 bundles, a delicious dinner, guest speaker and author Bryan Crum and empowering stories of life change and redemption from each of our family of ministries. This included a story of a former CCHO resident and her parents, a testimony from a former foster child, his bio mom and former foster parents and a story of a client from Encompass who was a survivor and overcomer of severe trauma & addiction. These stories reflected only a part of the amazing things God is doing through our family of ministries, made possible by our amazing donors and supporters.

The Mid-Ohio Corvette Club was the recipient of the Heart for the Home award.

Kevin Hewitt, President & CEO shares,

"I knew 100+ Corvettes were worth a whole lot of money. And these expensive, beautiful cars were going to be on our campus! I admit it, I was a little nervous, maybe a bit more than a little. The Mid-Ohio Corvette Club (MOCC) was hosting an event on the CCHO campus, and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But after the catered lunch, auction, and voting was completed, the Vettes started to line up. Each child hopped in a car and got a ride around the circle on our main campus.  Engines roared, clutches popped, tires squealed, and the smiles on our kids’ faces couldn’t be wider!!

What a blessing the Mid-Ohio Corvette Club (MOCC) has been to CCHO and our kids. They took a passion for cool machines and blessed our kids, staff, and ministry for over 16 years. The members of MOCC worked so hard to make their time on our campus unforgettable. They solicited donations, spread the word, and invited additional Corvette clubs to be a part of this special time at CCHO. In addition to all they did for CCHO, these amazing people became our friends, and for that we are very grateful. We are so excited to honor the Mid-Ohio Corvette Club this year and give them our biggest heart-felt thanks!"

Jim and Darlene Morrison, representatives of MOCC, shared some of the most impactful moments of the Cruisin' for the Kids event over the years in the testimonial video below.

We would like to give a big heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, auction donors, bidders, and attendees for making this event successful and helping more children and adults experience their worth in Christ. We hope to see everyone again next year! Below are some photos of the evening.
